Prime Minister Chinh and his wife met on Sunday in Seoul with staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the Republic of Korea.

Reporting to the Prime Minister at the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador Vu Ho said there are currently 280,000 people of Vietnamese origin living, studying and working in Korea. They pay attention to and want to contribute to national development. Community members stay united, support each other, integrate into local society, and actively contribute to promoting Vietnamese image and culture in Korea, according to the ambassador.

Prime Minister Chinh said  Vietnam-Korea relations have never been better than they are today in all aspects of politics, diplomacy, economics, security and defense, culture, and sports. The comprehensive relationship creates favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, work, and study in Korea.

The Prime Minister affirmed that the Party and State determine the Vietnamese community abroad as an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation.

PM Chinh responded to the issues raised by Vietnamese expats related to nationality, identification, and calling for Overseas Vietnamese’s contributions to national development. He said that the authorities will absorb, examine and propose amendments to relevant regulations, and adopt appropriate solutions in the spirit of "Try your best to do whatever is beneficial to the people and the country".
