NA Standing Committee opens 37th session on law making, oversight

(VOVWORLD) -The National Assembly Standing Committee opened its 37th session in Hanoi on Thursday with law-making to be the main agenda. 
The committee is scheduled to review and offer opinions on 11 draft laws and one ordinance, including the draft law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Vietnam People's Army Officers and the draft law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance. 
Regarding the supervision work, the NA Standing Committee will give opinions to reports on judicial work, annual audits, and several other important reports, including the NA’s supervision on the implementation of policies and laws on real estate market management and social housing development from 2015 to 2023, and the NA Standing Committee's supervision on the implementation of policies and laws on ensuring traffic safety and order from 2009 to 2023.
It will consider and approve the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of ambassadors. 

The National Assembly Standing Committee on Thursday discussed the draft revised Law on Chemicals to clarify the responsibilities of ministries and sectors in protecting people's health. The deputies agreed on the need to strengthen control and traceability of chemical origins, especially imported chemicals.

The National Assembly Standing Committee also gave opinions on the government's report on implementing the Constitution, laws, and National Assembly’s resolutions.

Also on Thursday, the National Assembly Chairman and deputies observed a minute of silence and expressed their condolences to the families of the victims, army officers, and soldiers who died during the rescue task and solving the aftermath of typhoon Yagi. The National Assembly launched campaign to raise fund to help disaster-hit people.
