(VNA) - A large number of officials, diplomats and students from Vietnam and Algeria gathered in Hanoi on Thursday to mark the 50th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties.

(VNA) - A large number of officials, diplomats and students from Vietnam and Algeria gathered in Hanoi on Thursday to mark the 50th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties. The meeting was jointly organized by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-Algeria Friendship Association.

Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Don Tuan Phong said that over the past 50 years, the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Algeria have been strengthened and promoted by the two countries’ leaders and people. Frequent high-ranking visits and people-to-people exchanges have contributed to co-operation between the two countries. Vice Chairman Don Tuan Phong and Ambassador Cherif Chikhi expressed their hope that bilateral relations between the two countries will further develop and flourish for peace and mutual benefit.
