(VOVworld) – Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told media Thursday that Moscow is against the politicization of an investigation into the crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 in southeastern Ukraine.

Russian news agency Interfax quoted Peskov as saying that this investigation should not be used as a pretext for some political inquisition.

He said the point of setting up an international tribunal is finding out who was responsible through an objective, substantive, and specific investigation.

Peskov said Russia has repeatedly asked Ukraine to provide recordings of military air traffic controllers but hasn’t received any response. He said Moscow will continue to do everything possible to find out the truth.
