(VOVworld) – Belgium’s Foreign Ministry has asked the UN Security Council to find those responsible for the shooting down of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 nearly one year ago.

6 Belgian citizens were among the 298 passengers and aircrew killed during the plane crash in Ukraine. Belgium is the 5th nation to ask for a tribunal for the MH17 victims, after Australia, Malaysia, the Netherlands, and Ukraine sent their petitions to the UN.
Opposition force in eastern Ukraine denied accusations of the involvement, saying that the Ukrainian army had shot the flight down. The Netherlands was assigned to open an international investigation into the incident.
