India-Pakistan negotiations should continue: John Kerry tells PM Nawaz over phone

Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif received a phone call from the United States Secretary of State John Kerry. Kerry reportedly told PM Nawaz that India-Pakistan negotiations should continue. He also said during his conversation with Nawaz Sharif that India and Pakistan’s relations were important for the stability of the region. Talks between India and Pakistan were in danger of being jeopardised when terrorists attacked an Indian Air Force base in Pathankot, last Saturday. Pathankot lies 25 km from the border with Pakistan. India handed over important leads to Pakistan and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had assured India that the attack was being investigated. The United Jihad Council (UJC) had claimed responsibility for the Pathankot attack.
