More than 100 scholars and researchers across the country reviewed the major milestones in General Giap’s revolutionary career; from being a teacher and journalist to being a military leader, a brilliant strategist, and a steadfast revolutionary.
They highlighted the General’s influential role during critical junctures in modern Vietnamese history, especially the Dien Bien PhuVictory in 1954 and the Ho Chi Minh Campaign in 1975, which played a decisive role in Vietnam’s struggle for national liberation and reunification.
The participants also delved into his strategic military thinking, command artistry, and above all, his doctrine of “People’s war,” a unique and groundbreaking military innovation in the history of global revolutionary movements.
The speakers emphasized that General Vo Nguyen Giap is a great example of the power of human will, when intellectual strength is closely aligned with national ideals, and when revolutionary ethics are put into bold and resolute action for the people and the nation.
