(VOVWORLD) - The World Food Program (WFP) reported on Tuesday that after four weeks of ceasefire, humanitarian aid entering the Gaza Strip has met only 50% of urgent needs.

Palestinian humanitarian organizations estimate that deliveries meet one-quarter to one-third of actual requirements. According to local authorities, an average of 145 aid trucks enter Gaza daily, far below the UN’s minimum target of 600 trucks per day.

The WFP and other humanitarian agencies once again called on Israel to lift the blockade immediately and allow unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza to prevent further suffering as winter approaches.
