Celebrations of President Ho Chi Minh's 135th birth anniversary held overseas

(VOVWORLD) - Overseas Vietnamese worldwide have held diverse activities to celebrate the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, May 19.

The Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Singapore laid wreaths at the monument of President Ho Chi Minh at the Asia Civilizations Museum.

Ambassador Tran Phuoc Anh said this is a meaningful occasion for Vietnamese people living, studying, and working in Singapore to demonstrate unity and solidarity the national development and reaffirm their commitment to contributing to strengthening the Vietnam–Singapore relationship.

A Community Art Festival 2025 for the Vietnamese community in Laos took place at the Lao National Cultural Hall in Vientiane. The 16 performances at the festival honored President Ho Chi Minh, praised the Communist Party of Vietnam, and the special Vietnam–Laos relationship.

At the event, nine paintings made from sacred Bodhi leaves from Phat Tich pagoda in Vientiane were auctioned with all proceeds donated to the Social Security Fund of the Lao National Assembly.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Australia held an incense-offering ceremony in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his memorial site within the Embassy grounds. A discussion on the diplomatic style embodied in Ho Chi Minh's thought was organized.

On this occasion, the documentary “Ho Chi Minh’s Diplomacy” was screened. The film was provided by the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi.

In Ulyanovsk city (Russia), the hometown of V.I. Lenin, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Ekaterinburg city coordinated with the government of Ulyanovsk province, Nghe An province, and the “Solidarity” Vietnamese Association in Ulyanovsk to organize a ceremony celebrating the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday. The event was attended by local leaders and a large number of Vietnamese residents in Ulyanovsk and neighboring areas.
