Painter Tran Duy Truc, who created the work “Dien Bien Phu-Shining the Golden Pages of National History”, being exhibited this time, said he painted President Ho Chi Minh listening to the phone call from the battlefield reporting the victory of the Dien Bien Phu campaign in May 1954.
“I am so excited to have my painting displayed at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum. It is the dream of all professionals, and it is proof that my work is good enough to be displayed. It’s very difficult to paint President Ho Chi Minh. When talking about the Dien Bien Phu victory, people immediately think of President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap and the Vietnam People's Army. So, it is necessary to paint clearly and vividly to honor the contributions of the great leader and the Dien Bien Phu victory,” Truc said.
The exhibition "Ho Chi Minh in the visual art" is open until May 30, 2025, at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hanoi.
