The Deputy PM addressed a meeting of the Council for National Biodiversity Conservation Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, in Hanoi on Wednesday.
The National Biodiversity Conservation Planning should ensure green economic development and proactive adaptation to climate change, said Deputy Prime Minister Ha.
“The planning should inherit and integrate measures to become a national plan. It should also show the responsibilities of a member country of the convention on biodiversity. It is necessary to consider how the national planning keeps up with the global situation,” said Ha.
The master plan determines that terrestrial nature reserves will span nearly 3 million ha and marine and coastal conservation zones will increase to 3-5% of the natural area of the national sea.
