Austria declares national mourning following school shooting, suspect identified as former student

(VOVWORLD) - Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker on Tuesday declared three days of national mourning after a high school shooting in the southeastern city of Graz left at least 10 people dead and 28 injured.

He called the shooting a "dark day in the history of our country.”

Austrian Interior Minister Gerhard Karner said the 21-year-old suspect in the shooting was a student who had not graduated from that school.

Austrian President Alexander Van der Belle expressed shock at the attack and called on people to stand together to overcome the pain.
