During a working trip to Austria last week, a CPV delegation led by Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of its Commission for Internal Affairs Phan Dinh Trac had meetings with Second President of the Austrian National Council Peter Haubner, Deputy Chief Justice of the Austrian Supreme Court Eva Marek, Chairperson of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Austrian National Council Petra Mayr, and Head of the Austrian Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption Lukas Berghammer.
At the meetings, the Austrian side affirmed that Austria highly values its traditional friendship with Vietnam and considers Vietnam one of Austria's leading important partners in Asia.
The two sides exchanged views and experiences on anti-corruption efforts, judicial reform, legislative development, and related policies and measures.
The Austrians applauded the visit and working sessions with the Vietnamese delegation. They said Austria attaches great importance to its traditional friendship with Vietnam and considers Vietnam one of its top partners in Asia.
Mr. Trac said Vietnam also values the relationship and regards Austria as a trusted partner in Europe. He called on Austria to support and promptly ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), and support and advocate for the EU’s removal of the IUU (Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated fishing) yellow card imposed on Vietnam's seafood exports.
