Discussions revolved around how to promote AI to address socio-economic challenges, enhance digital skills for citizens, and coordinate responses to digital threats such as deepfakes and misinformation. The ministers agreed on the need to strengthen international cooperation to establish a safe and trustworthy AI ecosystem.
Alongside the meeting, South Korea is hosting the “Digital Week” through Wednesday, featuring a series of workshops led by the United States, China, and Japan, drawing experts and representatives from major tech companies, including KT and Microsoft. South Korea is also scheduled to host the 2025 APEC Summit, set to take place in late October in Gyeongju.
