The National Committee for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum 2027 consists of 19 members, with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son serving as its Chairman.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Son said comprehensive preparations will begin this year, with core work to be completed in 2026, ahead of Vietnam’s hosting duties in 2027. The Committee will establish five subcommittees and a Secretariat to ensure overall direction and effective coordination.

“Rapidly changing and complex regional and global landscape requires member economies to remain committed to the forum’s core values and goals. Hosting APEC 2027 will be a major test of Vietnam’s leadership, adaptability, and ability to turn challenges into opportunities, transforming vision into concrete action and ushering APEC into a new phase,” said Mr. Son.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed Vietnam’s strong commitment to fulfilling a critical foreign policy mission.
"First, we must promote the spirit of cooperation among APEC members. Second, we should foster innovation and creativity, building on past achievements while embracing new approaches. Third, we must encourage unity, determination, and a high sense of responsibility among government bodies and local authorities to ensure the timely and high-quality completion of projects that are modern, green, clean, and beautiful.”
PM Chinh also reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to leveraging the support and coordination of APEC members, and the participation of the public and business community, and maximizing the outcomes of the APEC Summit to enhance economic development in each member economy and realize the objectives of every APEC cycle.

Prime Minister Chinh expressed confidence that APEC 2027 will be a resounding success, helping elevate APEC cooperation to a new level, meeting the expectations of member economies, and contributing to peace, cooperation, development, and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region and around the world.
