The PM requested Kien Giang province to estimate time and work needed, define the scope and objectives of projects serving APEC, on the basis of respecting the existing master plan.

He also highlighted infrastructure construction projects, including roads, airports, convention halls, squares, and clean water centers to serve the event expected to be a major milestone to show Vietnam's position in the region.

The 30th Asia-Pacific Economic Forum themed "Connecting and building inclusive and resilient economies" will also be an opportunity for Phu Quoc to become a center of global economic, social and trade cooperation.

Welcoming thousands of senior leaders and businessmen from 21 APEC member economies, Vietnam hopes to receive a foreign direct investment (FDI) flow into Phu Quoc to boost key economic sectors, such as tourism, real estate, retail and services.
