He made the statement while receiving Park Chang Dal, Special Envoy of Korean President Lee Jae Myung, in Hanoi on Tuesday.
Mr. Lam called for stronger cooperation in science and technology, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI), the establishment of data centers in Vietnam, and the training of high-quality human resources.
Special Envoy Park conveyed President Lee’s view that Vietnam is a top partner in the RoK’s regional policy. He expressed hope that Vietnam would continue to support Korean businesses operating in the country, especially in the field of nuclear energy. Mr. Park also proposed closer coordination in responding to rapid global economic and trade changes.
Party leader Lam emphasized the need for both countries to strengthen cooperation and mutual support at multilateral forums.
Special Envoy Park affirmed the RoK’s commitment to working closely with Vietnam to ensure the successful organization of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting, hosted by the RoK in 2025 and by Vietnam in 2027.
