The 8th national ceremony to commend outstanding youths was part of the 2025 National Congress of Outstanding Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings, aiming to honor outstanding youths, towards the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh.
Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilization, called on young people to constantly practice, take the initiative in setting new goals, pioneer in lifelong learning, master science and technology, start-up, and innovate.
He urged Party committees, authorities, ministries, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to further pay attention to and create favorable conditions for the Youth Union to truly be a companion and a reliable reserve force of the Party.
As part of the national congress, the young delegates attended a ceremony to report their achievements to Uncle Ho and receive the badge "Outstanding Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings", visited historical, cultural, economic and social sites in Ho Chi Minh City, and visited and presented gifts to Agent Orange victims at Hoa Binh Children's Village and Tu Du Hospital.
