The session is expected to last 11 working days, divided into two phases, opening on April 6, and tentatively closing on April 24.
In his remarks, Chairman Tran Thanh Man said at this session, deputies will review and determine key state leadership positions.
Mr. Man said: “At this session, deputies will consider and determine key state leadership positions, including the President, the Prime Minister, the National Assembly Chairman, Vice Chairpersons of the National Assembly, Deputy Prime Ministers, members of the Government, members of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Ethnic Council, and National Assembly committees. It follows the success of the 14th National Party Congress and the elections of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term.”

Chairman Man said following the elections, central and local authorities reviewed all petitions and complaints in accordance with regulations before announcing the official results.
To date, coordination among relevant agencies has been largely completed, meeting the conditions to certify the eligibility of 500 National Assembly deputies.
The National Assembly Office and the National Assembly Committee for Deputy Affairs are continuing to finalize necessary procedures to ensure the overall schedule of the session.
The National Election Council has announced the list of 500 elected deputies. It is expected that the Council will officially adopt a resolution certifying the eligibility of all 500 deputies to the 16th National Assembly on Friday.
