Famous tourist spots in localities to host SEA Games 31 competitions

(VOVWORLD) - Hanoi’s famous walking streets, Tam Chuc pagoda, and Ha Long Bay are among the leading tourist spots introduced on the fanpage of the upcoming 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31).

SEA Games 31 will be held in Hanoi and 11 neighbouring localities from May 12 to May 23. Apart from watching competitions, tourists should not miss out on the chance to visit sightseeing spots in each locality. Indeed, Hanoi’s Old Quarter is one of the primary spots for tourists to sample food and discover the capital at night.

Walking along streets in the walking zone around Ho Guom, also known as Returned Sword Lake, is an unforgettable experience when visiting Hanoi.

Ha Nam province will host both the men’s and women’s futsal matches. The province boasts Tam Chuc pagoda in Kim Bang district, a 500-hectare spiritual tourist area that has attracted a large number of visitors over recent years.

The Trang An eco-tourism site, which is considered to be “Ha Long Bay on land”, is situated roughly 96 km south of Hanoi and 7 km west of the centre of Ninh Binh province. It will play host to karate competitions at SEA Games 31.

Bai Dinh pagoda in Ninh Binh province is a cluster of Buddhist architectural structures. Built in 2003, the site has quickly become a top destination for many local Buddhist followers.

Tourists who visit Hai Duong Sporting Hall to watch table tennis competitions should not miss out on touring Con Son-Kiep Bac relic site which is one of 62 important national relics and is closely associated with historical heroes, including Nguyen Trai, Tran Hung Dao, and Tran Nguyen Dan.

Quang Ninh province will host beach volleyball competitions. The locality is home to Ha Long Bay which was recognised as a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1994 and 2000. In 2011 the bay was voted by New7wonders as one of the new seven natural wonders of the world.

Men’s football matches in the group stage will take place in Nam Dinh province. Apart from enjoying themselves with sporting activities, travelers should visit Tran Temple where kings of the Tran Dynasty and their mandarins are worshiped.
