VSTN uses modern DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) transmission technology. Each wavelength can carry a minimum capacity of 300 Gbps, with the total designed capacity of the line reaching up to 4 Tbps, which is upgradeable to 12 Tbps or higher.

To Dung Thai, Chairman of VNPT’s Member Council, said: "Besides satellite and undersea cable infrastructure, terrestrial fiber optic cable is a vital component in completing VNPT's system. We always see infrastructure as the core to ensuring the best services. We plan to increase the wavelengths to provide greater bandwidth. We have coordinated with international partners to effectively exploit the terrestrial cable to offer broader services."

VNPT’s direct control of the cable system from Vietnam to Singapore ensures independent operation and faster response to incidents.

Nguyen Thanh Chung, Director of the Department of Telecommunications of the Ministry of Science and Technology, said: "The VSTN international cable line is a symbol of Vietnam’s spirit of innovation, integration, and mastery of digital infrastructure. It’s an important foundation for realizing the objectives of the Politburo’s Resolution 57 on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. That means developing a modern, systematic digital infrastructure for effective national and international connectivity."

The launch of VSTN reaffirms VNPT’s pioneering role in digital infrastructure, contributing to safeguarding national digital sovereignty, and paving the way for the growth of Vietnam’s digital economy and digital society.
