Many people are wearing traditional ao dai or shirts that resemble the red flag and yellow star of Vietnam.

They are excited about the celebrations:

“I feel proud, touched, and filled with joy. Although the official celebration is nearly two weeks away, the atmosphere is already exciting. Everyone is proud of being Vietnamese and of the glorious 80-year history of our nation.”

“Seeing the bright red of our national flag, I feel very happy and proud.”

Red flags with yellow stars fly in the autumn breeze, connecting every home and every street. Government offices, houses, shops, and cafés are beautifully decorated with flags, flowers, and lights, making many them popular “check-in” spots.

“The streets are lively, full of energy, and overflowing with the red of our national flag. Residents and visitors come here to take photos. I feel extremely proud to be Vietnamese, joining the entire nation in celebrating its 80th anniversary.”

“The streets are decorated with red flags, inspiring patriotism among the people. I want to capture these moments of people buying decorations and adorning the streets, and keep them as memories of this rare celebration.”

Hanoi this August glows with a spirit of unity, faith, and love for the homeland. Throughout the city, citizens are working together to show that they are part of a modern, civilized capital that is proudly preserving its revolutionary legacy.
