These volunteers, representing 3 million young people and 600,000 Youth Union members in Hanoi, will be deployed at Ba Dinh Square and along 10 kilometers of parade routes to guide attendees and distribute supplies. They are also tasked with managing warehouses; transporting materials; supporting security, order, and sanitation; and welcoming domestic and international delegations. Dang Ngoc Anh is a student from the Banking Academy of Vietnam.
Anh said: “I’m very happy and honored to contribute to the National Day celebrations. I’ve prepared myself physically to join the training sessions and serve the official events.”
To qualify for this special occasion, the volunteers underwent a selection process to ensure they met requirements of political integrity, ethical conduct, strong academic performance, and good health. Some were also required to demonstrate foreign language proficiency. Eligible volunteers then participated in training courses to equip them with essential skills for maintaining public order, protecting the environment, assisting crowd control, and providing first aid.
Pham Khanh Toan, a student from the Hanoi University of Pharmacy, said he volunteered for the event out of national pride and a desire to contribute to the nation’s grand celebration.
Toan said: “I’m very proud. This is a major national event of profound significance for all Vietnamese people. I’m excited and looking forward to September 2, when I can join the nation in celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. We’ve been trained to guide delegations, assist with traffic control, and welcome international and domestic guests.”
For the young volunteers, filled with pride and a sense of honor, this is an opportunity to demonstrate their patriotism, promote a positive and dynamic image of Hanoi’s youth, and contribute to the success of this historic celebration.
