Over the past eight decades, Vietnam’s mechanical and manufacturing industry has grown significantly, becoming a key sector of the economy. The exhibition booths of steel producers, automobile manufacturers, electrical equipment companies, and agricultural machinery enterprises are impressive in their scale.
Ngo Van Tuong, a representative of Dong A Steel Company, northern branch, said: “Dong A Steel is displaying our ‘KingMax’ product line, symbolized by a rising dragon; our ‘Win’ product line, featuring an eastern culture crane motif; and our ‘SViet’ brand, which stands for Vietnam and the enduring spirit of its people. Dong A Steel brands affirm its identity as ‘the steel of the Vietnamese people,’ aspiring to become a global brand.”

Visiting the booth of the Vietnam Engine & Agricultural Machinery Corporation, Pham Thu Hong, a retired officer of the Son La provincial Department of Agriculture, said: “In the past, we only had rudimentary tools. As an agricultural engineer, I often worked in fields alongside farmers. Now there are tractors, harvesters, and seeders. The farmers have been well trained. I feel very proud to see the country’s strong growth and prosperity.”
Vietnam’s major steel brands at the exhibition include the Southern Steel Company, Thai Nguyen Steel, and Hoa Phat Steel. Automobile manufacturers and electrical–electronic engineering enterprises are showcasing a wide range of products used in construction projects.

Nguyen Van Hoi, Director of the Vietnam Institute of Strategy and Policy for Industry and Trade of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said: “Throughout Vietnam’s 80-year history, the Party and State have always set directions for industrialization. From the very beginning, heavy industry was identified as the foundation and industry has always been a key. Agriculture cannot develop without industrial achievements. Industrialization has boosted agricultural processing and improving added values of agricultural production.”
Since the first Tran Hung Dao Mechanical Plant was established in 1947 in Tuyen Quang province, Vietnam’s mechanical industry has grown steadily to become a driver of economic growth, supplying high-tech mechanical products to the industrial and construction sector, generating billions of dollars in revenue, and creating millions of jobs.
