Spratly soldiers provide food, fresh water to stranded fishermen

(VOVWORLD) - Adverse weather conditions over the past few days have left some 150 fishing boats from central and south central provinces stranded at Da Lat (Ladd Reef) island in Truong Sa (Spratly) island district, Khanh Hoa province.

On Tuesday, Naval Region 4 Command  asked the naval forces of Da Lat and other islands to give the stranded fishermen food and fresh water.

Senior Lieutenant Pham Sy Hao, the commissar of Da Lat island, said that they consider helping fishermen a duty.

“When the fishermen need help, they can contact us,” Hao said.
