This conference aims to strengthen Vietnam’s commitment to protecting and managing its maritime territories.
Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Communication and Education Commission, Vu Thanh Mai, emphasized that Vietnam's seas and islands hold sacred significance and play a crucial role in national development, defense, and security. He noted that raising public awareness about the strategic importance of seas and islands is an ongoing responsibility of the entire political system.
During the conference, participants discussed the importance of diplomatic efforts to safeguard Vietnam’s maritime sovereignty, progress in combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, and recent developments in the East Sea.
