Through the simulated court proceedings, local fishermen were able to directly observe legal procedures and gain a clearer understanding of the strict penalties imposed for IUU violations.

Following the mock trial, representatives of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command and other units held  dialogues with fishermen, answering questions related to regulations and promoting communication on IUU fishing prevention.

They distributed 500 leaflets on IUU regulations and 500 copies of the Vietnam Coast Guard Law handbook. Local fishing vessel owners and fishermen signed a joint commitment to combat IUU fishing.
