The delegates agreed that the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) is one of the greatest achievements of the international community in establishing a legal order at sea, and it continues to hold its value amid increasingly complex maritime disputes. Adhering to UNCLOS is not only the right choice but also a sustainable solution to safeguard the interests of individual nations and the region as a whole.
Initiated by the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in 2017, the Ocean Dialogue has created a forum to connect experts and policy makers in designing policies concerning the law of the sea.
