(VOVWORLD) - People’s Teacher Huynh Thanh Nha, Rector of Can Tho University of Technology, has been working in the education sector for more than 30 years. Dedicated and enthusiastic Nha has inspired generations of students.

As the head of Can Tho University of Technology since 2018, Nha has led many initiatives to improve the quality of training programs. 

The University, located in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, has opened 10 new training programs, raising the total number to 22. Dr. Do Thi Tuyet Nhung, Chairwoman of the University’s Board of Trustee, said, “Teacher Nha is whole-hearted, responsible, and determined and has a vision to develop the education sector. He often applies new ideas and initiatives to improve teaching methods and training programs.”

Nha is active in mobilizing resources for study promotion funds, scholarships for excellent students, and financial aid for disadvantaged students. Can Tho University of Technology has cooperated with businesses to support student internships and start-ups. 95% of graduates from find good jobs.

“I’m very pleased with what I’ve been able to achieve during my teaching career. I have helped train teachers involved in the National Contest for Excellent Students, and many of their students have won top prizes. Over the past 32 years, our university has trained more than 30,000 students, and the majority of them have become successful,” Nha said.

Nha pays particular attention to scientific research. Last year, 8 of the University’s research projects were approved, and many of its scientific initiatives were recognized at the national or provincial level and applied to teaching and learning.

“Nha has inspired his colleagues and students with his sense of responsibility and great dedication to the education sector. He creates a professional and friendly teaching and learning environment,” Teacher Nguyen Hoang Vien, a colleague of Nha, said.

Nha has published 10 training curricula and at least 40 scientific research projects in Vietnam and other countries, and had many management initiatives recognized locally and nationally.

“In the coming years, Can Tho University of Technology will focus on training human resources for scientific research and technology application to meet the demands of the 4th Industrial Revolution and international integration,” said Nha.
