The program offers free eye examinations for students and workshops for parents at 20 preschools and primary schools in Hanoi. This aims to raise community awareness about the importance of caring for and protecting children's eyes, while also sharing knowledge on the benefits and effectiveness of proper eye care for future generations.

Pham Ngoc Dong, deputy director of the Central Eye Hospital, said that each year, the World Health Organization designates the second Thursday of October to honor the eye care. "The program 'Healthy Eyes, Bright Future' is a practical initiative aimed at screening for general eye diseases, particularly refractive errors, to provide early care and treatment for children," he added.
