The tournament is is part of a series of activities to mark the 70th anniversary of the Capital’s Liberation Day, October 10.

According to a press conference held by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports in Hanoi on Monday, the racing in the West Lake will have 48 participating dragon boat teams, including teams from foreign countries, airlines, embassies and international organizations in Vietnam. The competition will be divided into six categories, with races to be held over a 500-meter distance.

The opening ceremony will feature musical and sports performances, water sports on the West Lake, showcasing dragon boats, sailboats, stand-up paddleboards (SUP), kayaks, SKY, and motorized inflatable boats from sports clubs and participating teams.
