Vietnam's pangasius are currently dominating the market in Australia, according to Vietnam’s Ambassador Nguyen Tat Thanh.
"Pangasius has become very popular in America, Europe, Japan, and many other countries. In recent years, exports of Vietnamese pangasius to Australia have increased dramatically, and pangasius has become one of the dishes most favored by Australians. Fish and chips are as popular in Australia as pho (rice noodle soup) is in Vietnam." Mr. Thanh said.
In 2020, Vietnamese pangasius accounted for 97.5% of the market share in Australia, with a total export value of nearly 18 million USD.
