The US had high ball possession count, and dozens of chances to finish, which led to 3 goals. Meanwhile, Vietnam could not find any chance to score and the game ended with a 3-0 win for the US.

Coach Mai Duc Chung’s “golden girls” held their heads high leaving Eden Park as they avoided an even heavier loss that many had speculated, which will help with the team’s confidence in upcoming matches against Portugal next Thursday and the Netherlands on August 1.
