Vietnamese PM meets with world leaders in Brazil

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with leaders of countries and head of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Sunday, on the sidelines of the expanded BRICS Summit.

At a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, PM Chinh congratulated India on its recent achievements and growing role on the global stage, particularly within the BRICS bloc.

Talking with Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, PM Chinh expressed Vietnam’s desire to boost bilateral cooperation and conveyed an invitation from Vietnamese leaders to Tinubu to visit Vietnam soon.

During a reception for Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov, the two leaders reaffirmed the principles and major orientation for deepening traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia. They agreed to continue to efficiently implement the agreements reached during the Russia visit by Party General Secretary To Lam in May.

PM Chinh also had a meeting with Jin Liqun, President and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
