(VOVworld) – Vietnamese staged a demonstration in front of the Parliament building in Oslo, Norway, to protest China’s placement of oil rig Haiyang-981 within Vietnam’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

200 protesters raised Vietnamese and Norwegian flags. Banners written in Vietnamese, Chinese, Norwegian, and English protested China’s action, demanded China withdraw the oil rig from Vietnam’s EEZ, and proclaimed Vietnam’s ownership of Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagos. Demonstrators delivered leaflets calling for the support of Norwegian people and continued protests by Vietnamese people.

The Vietnamese in Norway showed their love for the motherland by their determination to, together with those at home, protest China’s illegal action.
