Venerable Thich Minh Quang, head of the coordinating board of Buddhism in Laos and the pagoda’s head monk, recalled the battle that took place at Gac Ma on March 14, 1988, and stressed the significance of the requiem.
He called on younger generations to carry forward the tradition of safeguarding Vietnam’s sovereignty over its land, sea, islands, and continental shelf.
