Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, EuroCham Chairman Bruno Jaspaert urged Vietnam and the EU to strengthen cooperation and deepen mutual understanding of each other’s regulations and standards in green transition to jointly pursue the sustainable economic development goal as Vietnam is among the countries most severely affected by climate change, while Europe is currently Vietnam’s third-largest trading partner.

“As European companies, we believe that we have not only a responsibility to make profit, but we believe we also have a responsibility as a company to look after this planet. It means that as an investor in a country, you do not only come here to make things and make profit, but also to actually give something back,” said Jaspaert.

He took the organization of the Green Economic Forum as an example to make sure that Vietnamese people have access to the latest updates in terms of technology, business models, interpretation of the law.

As part of the Forum, 9 thematic sessions will be held, covering direct power purchase mechanisms, clean energy innovation, social housing integration and sustainable construction, AI and digital transformation, and the circular economy. In addition, three workshops on green production and supply chains, green growth financing, and sustainable urban development and smart transportation, will be held.
