In this context, the Vietnamese community in Australia expects the new National Assembly to establish a strong foundation for Vietnam to seize opportunities and achieve stronger development in the coming years.

Doan Tien Giang, a member of the Vietnamese community living in Sydney, said: “First, we hope the new National Assembly will improve the operational mechanisms of the two-tier local government model to enhance the quality of public services. Second, the National Assembly needs to adopt decisions that ensure mechanisms for private sector development and the improvement of infrastructure services, while increasing the transparency and efficiency of public investment. Third, it's important to introduce sustainable development policies so that economic growth does not come at the expense of environmental and social well-being in the future.”

Tran Ba Phuc, member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Chairman of the Vietnamese Business Association in Australia, also expressed hope that the 16th National Assembly will introduce more supportive policies for overseas Vietnamese.

Phuc said: "The Vietnamese community abroad hopes that deputies of the upcoming 16th National Assembly will introduce policies that protect the legitimate rights of overseas Vietnamese returning to Vietnam to invest and do business, while also supporting overseas Vietnamese communities in strengthening connections with their homeland. We also hope for policies that help maintain and promote Vietnamese cultural identity among younger generations abroad, and create opportunities for overseas Vietnamese to access educational resources in Vietnam.”

Vietnamese people, wherever they live, always look toward their homeland and remain an inseparable part of it.
