Speaking at the event in Hanoi on Friday, Deputy Minister Tan emphasized the need to align APEC 2027 agenda with Vietnam's economic development priorities and the requirements of international integration in the new era.
“We must prepare for APEC to have a successful year, with many initiatives and diverse content. The content subcommittee has a large contingent representing 15 ministries and agencies," Tan said.
"We are discussing three key issues. Firstly, content must be balanced. Secondly, ministries and agencies are required to propose feasible initiatives, in light of the country's situation, such as the development and breakthroughs planned for 2026-2027. Thirdly, from there, we can continue to refine and propose content for 2027 and subsequent years,” he added.

Deputy Foreign Minister Hang said the content preparation aims to ensure the successful organization of the events and demonstrate Vietnam's strategic thinking, long-term vision, and responsibility in promoting APEC cooperation towards a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Asia-Pacific community.
Vietnam will host the APEC Economic Leaders' Week in Phu Quoc Special Zone in 2027. The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), consisting of 21 members, is a regional economic forum established in 1989 to leverage the growing interdependence of the Asia-Pacific.
