|Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien has working sessions with US leaders in Washington DC to promote bilateral trade.
Bridget McGovern, Assistant Secretary for Trade and Economic Security at the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and Head of US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said that they will create favorable conditions to ensure the stability of Vietnam's commodity export activities.
Minister Dien suggested DHS and CBP to develop an objective and fair law enforcement mechanism, ensuring the interests of Vietnamese workers and the legitimate interests of Vietnam's export industry.
Paul Dyck, Walmart's Vice President for International Government Affairs, said that Vietnam is in the top five biggest exporters to Walmart, focusing on textiles, home appliances, electronics and ready-to-eat foods. The American multinational retail corporation will direct the Representative Office in Vietnam to strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to send delegations and purchase groups to Vietnam to increase the amount of imported Vietnamese goods.
