Participants reviewed outstanding achievements between Vietnam and the US since both countries normalized diplomatic ties in 1995. Cooperation activities among the two governments and people over the past 20 years have resulted in practical outcomes in economics, trade, and investment. Last year, the two countries established comprehensive partnership relations to boost coordination in regional and multilateral matters. The US is Vietnam’s biggest export market, with two-way trade turnover reaching 30 billion USD in 2013 and more than 10 billion USD in the first four months of 2014. People-to-people diplomacy activities have regularly organized contributions to strengthening cooperation and mutual understanding.
