(VOVworld) – The US House of Representatives has presented the Congressional Record to mark 20 years of the normalization of commercial relations between the US and Vietnam.

US Senator Jeff Flake handed over the document to Vietnamese ambassador Nguyen Quoc Cuong at a ceremony on Monday. The document says the US lifting of its embargo on Vietnam opened a new chapter in Vietnam-US relations paving the way for the full normalization of diplomatic ties on July, 1995. It says that the Vietnam-US relations have developed comprehensively thanks to efforts made by both governments and peoples. The record acknowledges the role of the two countries’ leaders in strengthening bi-lateral ties and the contribution and vision of Vietnam’s leaders in fostering Vietnam-US relations.
