(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Union of Associations of Persons with Disabilities and the organization Irish Aid on Monday held a dialogue on ways to provide better heath insurance for disabled people. There are currently 5.1 million disabled people in Vietnam, accounting for 6% of the population. The revised Law on Health Insurance will take force on January 1st, 2015, to promote the rights of insurance holders towards the goal of every Vietnamese having health insurance.

The delegates stressed the need to fine-tune legal documents and increase communications to effectively enforce the revised Law on Health Insurance and encourage disabled people to buy health insurance. Additionally, it’s necessary that disabled people and their families learn more about health insurance.
