The e-portal, found at kekhai.baohiemxahoi.gov.vn, enables individuals to complete social, unemployment, and health insurance transactions online, part of the sector’s efforts to reform its administrative procedures.
By the end of this year, VSI will allow 90% of businesses in Vietnam to access social insurance via the portal.
PM Dung said: “the e-portal will be the key of social insurance and the pillar of the social-welfare network with a huge number of beneficiaries – 65 million health insurance and 12 million social insurance cardholders and 10 million others with unemployment insurance. With its “one-stop shop” mechanism and quality management standards, the service aims to provide the best possible experience to the public.”
PM Dung urged Vietnam Social Insurance to cut the time required to complete social insurance paperwork to 49.5 hours from 335 hours by the end of this year to match the time required in the ASEAN-6 countries (Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Brunei). He also mentioned a more ambitious goal: to cut an additional one or two hours to match the ASEAN-4 group.
He said the agency should make paperwork reduction its main task. He added that new technology should also be applied to administrative reform.
