At Wednesday meeting in Hanoi, Minister Dien said Vietnam currently has a need to purchase goods, equipment and services from the United States in large quantities, with high and stable value. These are all products that the US has strengths in and that Vietnam has demand for, he added.
However, trade between the two countries has not really matched their potential, the Minister said, urging both countries to promptly review and remove obstacles, creating favorable conditions for businesses to buy and sell essential products, supplementing each other's demand for goods. Minister Dien also called on businesses to be more active to unlock this tremendous potential.
