The conference disseminated the Law on Participation in UN Peacekeeping Operations, which was recently approved by the National Assembly and will come into effect on January 1, 2026. It also outlined a roadmap for deploying Vietnam’s peacekeeping forces for the 2025-2030 period and beyond.

From 2030 onward, Vietnam will have successfully nominated at least 2 personnel to senior positions within the UN. It will have had 3-7 units at Level 2 and 3 on the UN Peacekeeping Capability Readiness System (PCRS), ready for deployment upon the request of the UN.

Since May 2014, Vietnam has deployed nearly 1,100 officers and soldiers to UN peacekeeping operations in South Sudan, the Central African Republic, Abyei, and the UN Headquarters in New York.
