Female soldiers spread Vietnamese culture in Africa

(VOVWORLD) - Staff members of Vietnam's Level-2 Field Hospital No. 6 in South Sudan took part in a series of cultural exchange events in the final days of June. The image of female Vietnamese soldiers wearing ao dai (traditional dress) made a strong impression.

Performances by female Vietnamese soldiers of ca tru (ceremonial singing), folk songs, and the traditional dances of three regions evoked a thousand-year-old cultural heritage and impressed the audience.

Captain Suvdaa of the UN Peacekeeping Forces of Mongolia praised the participation and performance of Vietnamese female militray officials during the 4-day event.

The Vietnamese cultural space was further brought to life through a variety of traditional Vietnamese dishes. Fried spring rolls, pork pies, banh chung (square sticky rice cake), and beef noodle soup received praise from international friends.

In addition to fulfilling their medical duties, each military medic in Vietnam's Level-2 Field Hospital No. 6 in South Sudan serves as a cultural ambassador of peace and humanitarian friendship, true to Vietnam’s responsibility as an active member of the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces.
