He told Saleumxay Kommasith, Laos’ Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, while the two chaired the 10th Vietnam-Laos Foreign Ministerial Political Consultation Meeting on Wednesday in Hanoi.
The two ministers had an extensive and substantive exchange, focusing on the development of bilateral cooperation and preparation for high-level foreign affairs activities between the two countries in the future. They discussed measures to continue to promote cooperation between the two ministries of foreign affairs.
The two sides agreed to closely coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums, especially in ASEAN and Mekong sub-region cooperation mechanisms as well as advocate ASEAN's common stance on strategic issues in the region, including the East Sea (internationally known as South China Sea) issue.
