Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Bui Le Thai emphasized that the 75-year diplomatic relationship between the two countries has been one of pride, nurtured through solidarity, mutual trust, and sustainable cooperation. Vietnam is committed to further strengthening the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Hungary, he added.
First Deputy Speaker of Hungary's National Assembly Márta Mátrai expressed pride in Hungary’s role in supporting Vietnam’s national liberation, most notably through its participation in the International Commission of Control and Supervision (ICCS) between 1973 and 1975.
Mátra said she valued the long-standing friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two nations, particularly parliamentary collaboration – a pillar of the bilateral relationship – through high-level visits, committee exchanges, and legislative dialogues. She also informed that Speaker László Kövér had accepted an invitation and is scheduled to visit Vietnam this October.
At the event, Chairman of the Hungarian-Vietnam Friendship Association, Botz Lászlo, praised the strong and developing traditional friendship between Vietnam and Hungary. "I would like to express our people’s deep respect and affection for Vietnam. Vietnamese who have studied in Hungary have always expressed their love of Hungary’s culture and language. The Hungarian-Vietnam Friendship Association will continue to promote our bilateral relations across all fields," he said.
