President Phuc on Wednesday received a delegation of international delegates attending the 22nd Congress of the World Peace Council taking place in Hanoi. He said Vietnam has always steadfastly united and supported the peoples of other countries in the struggle for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress, for a just world and sustainable and peaceful development.
“Vietnam will firmly adhere to the goal of national independence associated with socialism, uphold the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, diversification, and multilateralization of foreign relations, proactively and actively integrate into the world, ensure the highest interests of the nation on the basis of fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international law. We hope that the World Peace Council, international democratic organizations, and progressive forces around the word will continue to accompany, unite and support the Vietnamese people on their new journey,” he said.
Vietnam will continue to actively contribute to the Council's movements as well as to progressive people's movements around the world for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress, President Phuc said.

The delegates and leaders of the World Peace Council and the Peace Councils of other countries expressed their love and admiration for the Vietnamese people and President Ho Chi Minh. Representatives of the Peace Council of other countries said that the Vietnamese people love peace and that Vietnam holds a special place in the hearts of world peace-loving people.
